Pool & Spa Benefits at a glance:
Reduce Chlorine/Bromine
Use
Water with reduced surface tension means chlorine works more effectively to kill bacteria and chemical quantities can be reduced greatly, including amounts required to "shock" water. Studies have shown that the treated water is now "wetter" (reduced surface tension) allowing chlorine/bromine and other chemicals to operate more effectively in the water. This results in killing more harmful bacteria with less chlorine or bromine. Reductions as much as 40% over previous usage have been reported.
Swimming Pools, Jacuzzis & Spas
Installed on pump-filter recirculation systems of pools, the Soo-Soft Digital Water Softening System pulverizes hard calcium deposits into the size and consistency of microscopic talcum powder, making the water silky and soft. No more hardened calcium "bathtub ring" to scrub. Filters last longer before needing replacement or backwashing. No more skin irritations from being "blasted" by hard calcium crystals in the water. Easy clean up on tiled and fiberglass surfaces without use of harsh chemicals. Reduced pump maintenance with better water flow as hard calcium deposits are cleared.
Fountains
Fountains no longer require constant clean up of "bathtub ring". Flowing water now dissolves calcium deposits. Less chlorine and bromine required to kill algae, mold, and fungus. Pumps and filters last longer. Spray nozzles and pipes are cleared of hardened calcium deposits resulting in better water flow, true planned spray patterns, and lower maintenance costs.
Water Parks
The cost benefits for digital water softening are considerable. The removal of lime scale from the plumbing systems, pools and other equipment increases water flow while reducing energy required for operation. In the case of electric and gas water heaters, energy consumption is reduced. Calcium deposits, acting as a thermal insulator, reduce the efficiency of these heaters. As lime scale deposits are removed from electric heating elements or gas boilers, the amount of energy required for operation is reduced, sometimes dramatically based upon age of these units and amount of accumulated scale.
The frequency of maintenance and replacement are reduced and life expectancy of equipment is extended. Hard calcium deposits foul most moving parts of pumps, trap corrsive elements, and cause premature failure. This is especially true for heaters. Calcium in water forms lime scale at a much faster rate when heated, making electric heaters and gas boilers fail at much higher rates.
